Berbatov : Luck or Skill ?

Dimitar Berbatov. The MUFC's number 9. 30 million pounds for him. Fantastic price for a fantastic player. Is it really worth all that money though?

The beginning was very impressive. We saw lots of goals, many skillful moves, a few good assists. Saw his energetic and a bit lazy sides. We got to celebrate with him a few trophies but he's been sitting on the beach recently. For some - his time in Manchester is over, some say he is yet to reveal his potential. But maybe it's Sir Feguson's final word. Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen may be good strikers, but they are not enough. Before that Tevez left The Theater because it was getting too crowded and maybe if that was the case now, we could have seen Berbatov going too.

In my opinion most of his goals were lucky. The way he moves, runs with the ball, shoots, fights for the ball - a true talent, no doubts, yet there's something disturbing about it, as if every move is a bit rushed, or he's under extreme pressure and he's not sure what to do. Yet he does something and does it at the right moment with perfection. No question about his skills but are those 100% precision shots or isn't there a bit more luck than usual?

A few months ago those were just thoughts in my head and I was ready to ignore them but now things have changed. He's been sitting on the bench for a while, in the few important for MU matches he didn't do something significant, no goals, no assists, nothing. He even said he won't be playing more in the national team. Many questions have arisen, but he, his manager and the coach all say Dimitar Berbatov is staying in the club, but many like me still ask themselves - how long?

This is not another angry or criticizing post against the Bulgarian striker. It's just an expression of thoughts, that i wish could change something. I am a believer and truly want things to be different. I know Berbatov can step on his feet again and start scoring, this is a matter of time. I thank him for all the nice moments we've had watching him play and wish him all the best in his career and personal life.

Успех, Митко!!!
